MyOwnBiz ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. This policy applies to all users of myownbiz.app, including Subscribers (service business owners) and their Customers (end users who book services).

2. Information We Collect

From Subscribers (Business Owners):

• Account information: Name, email, phone number, business name, city
• Business data: Customer lists, job schedules, invoices, service records, chemical logs, photos
• Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe — we never store credit card numbers
• Usage data: Login activity, feature usage, browser type, IP address

From Customers (End Users):

• Service request information: Name, phone, email, service type, preferred date, description
• This data belongs to the Subscriber (the business owner), not to MyOwnBiz

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Service
• To create and manage your account
• To process payments
• To send important service notifications (account updates, security alerts)
• To improve the Service based on usage patterns
• To provide customer support

4. What We Do NOT Do

5. Data Ownership

Subscribers own all data they enter into MyOwnBiz. This includes customer information, job records, invoices, photos, chemical logs, and all other business data. We are a data processor, not a data owner. Your data is yours — period.

6. Data Security

We protect your data with:

• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest
• Isolation: Row-level security ensures your data is completely separated from other accounts
• Authentication: Secure login via Supabase Auth with password hashing
• Infrastructure: Hosted on Vercel (frontend) and Supabase (database) — both SOC 2 compliant
• Access controls: Only authorized team members can access production systems, and only for support purposes with your permission

7. Data Retention and Deletion

• Active accounts: Data is retained as long as your account is active
• Cancelled accounts: Data is retained for 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted
• On request: You may request immediate deletion of all your data at any time by contacting support
• Data export: You may export all your data at any time in CSV or JSON format

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate MyOwnBiz:

• Supabase — Database and authentication (your data is stored here)
• Vercel — Web hosting and deployment
• Stripe — Payment processing (when applicable)

Each of these services has their own privacy policies and security certifications. We select partners who meet high security and privacy standards.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Export — Download your data in standard formats at any time
• Correct — Update or correct your information
• Delete — Request permanent deletion of your account and data
• Portability — Take your data with you if you leave

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

11. Children's Privacy

MyOwnBiz is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
